Adjustments are Necessary
Many of us as believers want God to speak to us and give us guidance and direction in our lives. However, when He does, how many of us are not interested in making major adjustments in our lives to do what He wants? Every time God spoke to people in Scripture about something He wanted to do through them, major adjustments were required in their lives. Once these adjustments were made, God accomplished His purposes through them!
Adjusting your life to God is an important step to take as a believer and is critical to knowing and doing the will of God. But in order to take this spiritual step you need to be willing to make changes in your life. If you choose to make the adjustments necessary to please God, you can move on to obedience. If you refuse to make the adjustments to obey God, you will miss out on some great blessings that God has in store for your life.
In the book “Experiencing God” Henry Blackaby writes: * “You cannot continue life as usual or stay where you are and go with God at the same time.”
There are many examples in Scripture where this truth is clear. Noah could not continue to live his life as usual and build an ark. Moses could not continue to be a shepherd in the desert and lead the Israelites out of Egypt. David had to leave his sheep to become king. Peter, Andrew, James, and John all had to leave their fishing to follow the Lord. All of these men made enormous adjustments in their lives. However, each one of these men learned that adjusting one’s life to God is well worth the cost.
Have you come to a place in your life where you are willing to yield everything to God in order to follow Him?
